Gateways Music Festival | Shana Tucker: ChamberSoul

In ChamberSoul, classically trained cellist, vocalist, songwriter, and composer Shana Tucker places the expanding possibilities of her instrument center stage. With classical artistry at the heart of her performance, Tucker moves from intimate melodies to infectious grooves through original songs, jazz standards, and imaginative interpretations of music made famous by Roberta Flack, Stevie Wonder, Tracy Chapman, Cyndi Lauper, and others.

Praised by JazzTimes, Tucker has performed at the Kennedy Center, REDCAT in Los Angeles, and Wits Theatre in Johannesburg, and spent five years as cellist and vocalist with KÀ by Cirque du Soleil. Her albums SHiNE and Hiding in the Light pair original songwriting with fresh interpretations of beloved music. Join Gateways for a Saturday night filled with virtuosity, warmth, story, and soul as Tucker transforms the familiar, shares something entirely her own, and reveals just how much possibility one cello can hold.
